St. Boniface Diocesan High School is seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking and compassionate
individual for the position of Guidance Counsellor (0.5) and Resource Teacher (0.5). As the
Guidance Counsellor, the individual will be responsible for providing students with academic,
post-secondary, and career advice as well as social/emotional support. As the Resource Teacher,
the individual will provide programming support for students that require assistance. This will
include writing support plans and collaborating with teachers to determine in-class strategies.
Successful applicants will:
• Hold a valid Manitoba Permanent Professional Certificate
• Demonstrate a teaching philosophy in keeping with Catholic education
• Have excellent interpersonal, communication, and team skills
• Be able to work independently and in a confidential environment
Preference will be given to individuals with knowledge/experience in:
• Special education certificate in resource or working towards completion
• Experience working with students with academic challenges
• Experience working in a counselling capacity
• Work or practicum experience in a high school environment
