St. Boniface Diocesan High School is seeking an enthusiastic, passionate, faith-filled individual,
able to direct young people toward a meaningful, life-affirming journey with Christ. This is a full
time position, 10.5 months per year with standard work hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Monday to Friday. Salary will be as per the terms of the Collective Agreement.
The ideal candidate will possess a philosophy in keeping with Catholic education, strong
interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, and a willingness to work in a team-
focused environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Coordinate and organize youth faith-based activities before, during and after school
including, but not limited to, morning prayer and devotional.
• Engage in the recruitment process of prospective students from Manitoba Catholic
feeder schools to promote school culture, faith life, and transition.
• Collaborate with local priests and diocese to support the sacramental and prayer life of
students and the school community.
• Network with local diocesan priests and youth ministers to create joint opportunities
including, but not limited to, organizing priests to celebrate school Masses.
• Act as a role model to students through a visible presence, sharing, witness and
celebration in the life of the school.
• Pursue professional development opportunities.
• Plan and coordinate retreats for all students including, but not limited to, grade retreats,
grad retreats and campus ministry retreats.
• Coordinate Campus Ministry initiatives with Administration when planning the school
calendar.
• Be available to teens that might seek advice/support according to spiritual needs. Make
referrals to the Guidance Counsellor when it is believed that a student’s issues go
beyond the scope of the Campus Ministry Coordinator’s experience and expertise.
• Lead and supervise regular campus ministry meetings and faith based gatherings.
• Coordinate and attend all events involving students which includes planning and it’s
complete execution.
• Be available to pray with and for students.
• Serve as the liaison with St. Boniface diocesan office of youth ministry and be familiar
with and share their programs, services, and resources.
• Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
• Proven commitment to Catholic faith and active involvement in their local parish
community.
• An enthusiastic, passionate, faith-filled individual, able to direct young people toward a
meaningful, life-affirming journey with Christ.
• Able to establish good rapport with students, parents, staff.
• Able to teach/train and motivate student ministry leaders working in the campus ministry
program.
• Excellent leadership, communication, collaboration and organization skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as interdependently and
collaboratively.
• Must have strong initiative skills and able to work under minimal supervision.
• Follows all other employee requirements in the Collective Agreement.
Qualifications
• Certificate in Youth Ministry through the Center of Ministry Development or several years
of experience working in youth/young adult ministry at a parish level.
• Knowledge and understanding of coordinating a campus ministry program in a high
school or college campus environment.
