Calvin Christian School is an independent Christian school in Winnipeg, Manitoba,
dedicated to developing the faith, character and academics of students from
Kindergarten through Grade 12. Our teachers and administration are committed
Christians who are invested in the lives of their students and work with children and

Founded on a vision to provide Christ-centered education that nurtures faith, wisdom,
and service, Calvin Christian School has faithfully served the greater Winnipeg area for
65 years. With over 500 students across two campuses (elementary and collegiate),
CCS is a vibrant and growing community dedicated to equipping students for lives of
faithful service to Christ.
Calvin Christian School is a member of the Prairie Centre for Christian Education, the
Manitoba Federation of Independent Schools, Christian Schools Canada, Christian
Schools International and is governed by a parent-run board. Our mission is rooted in
Christian principles that honour God’s sovereignty in all aspects of life and learning.
Calvin Christian School also partners with Calvin Manitoba International School (CMIS)
in South Korea, a Manitoba-affiliated international school founded to bring Canadian
Christian education into the Korean context. The partnership is guided by an
Operations Committee, and the Head of School collaborates with the committee to
support educational alignment and emerging exchange opportunities.
Position Summary
The Board of Directors is seeking a visionary and spiritually grounded leader to serve
as the Head of School and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This individual will lead
Calvin Christian School into the next chapter of growth and excellence, providing
strategic direction, spiritual leadership, and executive oversight of all academic,
operational, and organizational functions.
The Head of School and CEO will report directly to the Board of Directors and will
serve as the school’s key spiritual, educational, and administrative leader, ensuring
alignment with the mission and vision of Calvin Christian School.
Key Responsibilities
1. Mission and Vision Leadership
○ Champion the school’s Christ-centered mission in all areas of operation and
community life.
○ Cultivate a spiritually nurturing environment for students, staff, and families.
○ Lead long-term strategic planning in partnership with the Board of Directors.
2. Educational and Instructional Oversight
○ Support and evaluate school principals and ensure the delivery of high-quality
Christian education.
○ Promote excellence in teaching and learning grounded in a Biblical worldview.
○ Strengthen and model a positive, mission-aligned staff culture; provide
leadership in professional development, collaboration, and spiritual growth for
administration and staff.
○ Oversee implementation and continuous improvement of curricular standards.
3. Organizational and Operational Management
○ Provide executive leadership to all school operations including finance, human
resources, facilities, and transportation.

○ Ensure sound financial stewardship, budgeting, and resource allocation.
○ Recruit, mentor, and retain high-quality Christian educators and staff.
4. Board and Governance Relations
○ Serve as the sole employee of the Board and act as the liaison between
Board and school operations.
○ Provide regular reporting and consultation to the Board, supporting effective
policy-based governance.
○ Uphold Board policies and communicate strategic initiatives.
5. Community Engagement and Advancement
○ Foster strong relationships with parents, alumni, donors, churches, and
partner organizations.
○ Serve as the public face of the school to promote enrollment and donor
development.
○ Support fundraising, communications, and advancement efforts.
Qualifications
❖ A graduate degree in Educational Leadership or equivalent
❖ A vibrant personal Christian faith, with a commitment to the authority of
Scripture and the Lordship of Christ in all areas of life, living out biblical
principles in personal and professional life.
❖ Alignment with the school’s theological perspective and community standards.
❖ Eligible to hold a teaching certificate in the Province of Manitoba.
❖ Minimum of 10 years’ education experience with a minimum of five years
experience in Administration in Christian education.
❖ A deep understanding of best educational practices and a passion for academic
excellence.
❖ Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
❖ Proven skills in strategic planning, staff leadership, financial management, and
board relations.
❖ Highly developed relational, communication, human resource and business
management skills.
❖ Excellent organizational skills.
❖ Proven experience and abilities in fundraising and donor development.
