Position Summary
MBCI is seeking a qualified and compassionate Educational Assistant to support students with learning and behavioural needs. Working collaboratively with teachers and staff, the Educational Assistant plays an important role in supporting student success and contributing to an inclusive, faith-based learning environment.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Provide direct support to students with learning and behavioural needs.
- Collaborate with teachers in the delivery of daily instructional programs.
- Support literacy learning, self-regulation, and study skills.
- Assist students with math learning, particularly in Grades 5 through 10.
- Help create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Contribute positively to the overall care and supervision of students.
Qualifications
- Active membership in a Christian church and commitment to Christian education from an Anabaptist perspective.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience working as an Educational Assistant.
- Demonstrated ability to support mathematics learning in Grades 5 through 10.
- Knowledge of and experience supporting literacy development, self-regulation, and study skills.
- Strong reading, writing, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- High degree of sensitivity, diplomacy, and adaptability in changing or stressful situations.
- Educational Assistant certification is considered an asset.
