MFIS is offering a legal seminar dealing with Labour, Employment and Human Rights issues, in partnership with MLT Aikins LLP.  This is a half-day session that will address issues that may arise in the course of employment.  You are welcome to invite your School Board Chair or Board Director responsible for Human Resources.

The seminar may include the following areas and topics:

  • Hiring and Termination of Teachers and Staff
  • Human Rights considerations re: hiring, termination, bona fide qualification requirements; reasonable accommodation of staff.
  • Documentation related to hiring and termination and human rights concerns.
  • Faith issues that can conflict with secular employment and human rights laws.

Where:            Large Boardroom, Archdiocese of Winnipeg, 1495 Pembina Hwy.

When:             Friday, June 1st, 2018;  9:00 am to 12:00 noonPlease arrive for 8:30 to sign in and to have coffee and muffins to start your day!

Cost:                $20.00 per person

 To make this seminar more meaningful, you have the option to submit specific questions and/or scenarios prior to the seminar to allow David Negus the opportunity to address your concerns.  You may submit these to Teresita Chiarella at tchiarella@mfis.ca and will forwarded to David Negus.
